Curves & dumplings – passes, curves and enjoyable experiences with the “Let’s bike together” bike hosts

For well over 20 years, the “Kurven & Knödel” hosts have been guaranteeing the perfect motorcycle vacation in the Alps. On the one hand, there is a motorcycle service that is hard to beat, leaving nothing to be desired, from an accompanied tour to your own Kurviger version. On the other hand, there are 10 motorcycle enthusiasts, in a positive sense, with whom not only bends and hairpin bends can be cracked – when it comes to culinary delights and moments of pleasure, no wishes remain unfulfilled.

Last year I had the great pleasure of taking part in the production of the “Kurven & Knödel” magazine and experiencing 9 pleasure tours with the lively hosts.

Part 1 of the article takes you to , Styria and the Dolomites.

From the Hochkönig to the magic of the huts

Together with the hosts, biker host Georg and daughter Madlen, from the Hotel Sonnegg in Saalbach/Salzburger Land, the bends near the Hochkönig were then conquered to start off. With the Dientner Sattel, the Kleinarl valley and the Rauris valley, exciting asphalt awaited. Delicious trout was served at the Jägersee lake and the calories consumed were wonderfully replaced with apricot dumplings at Schloss Kammer.

The biker hosts Astrid and Christian from the Grizzly Resort in St. Margarethen/Lungau took us from Salzburger Land to Styria and presented us with plenty of winding potential with the Sölkpass and the Stoderzinken. Three wonderful mountain huts shone with magnificent approaches and regional specialties on the plates. A trip to the Schladminger Tauern that you won’t forget in a hurry

The Dolomountains – snappy and crisp

If you’re at home near the Sella Ronda like biker host Bernd from the Hotel Gran Paradis , you could almost declare the ‘ pass paradise to be part of your daily routine. Fortunately, the wine connoisseur doesn’t and enthusiastically shows us his favorites for the successful house tour: the Fedaia, the Giau and the Würzjoch. The culinary stop at the “Rifugio Salei Hütte” on the Sella Pass was in no way inferior to the fun on the bends.

Of course, combining culinary highlights with biking experiences in South and the Dolomites is also Mondschein boss Karl’s absolute specialty. The route took us over the hairpin bends of the Würzjoch and through the fantastic winding roads of the Lüsener and Villnöss valleys back to the Eggental valley at home. Not without a stop at the Halshütte or in Feldthurns at the Glangerhof. A very special experience on this tour: the observatory stop.

Would you like a little more?

In the second part of this blog post, you can look forward to more enjoyable tours from the curves and dumplings hosts. Konrad takes you over the Staller Sattel and the Pustertaler Höhenstraße. Tyrolean biker hosts Klaus, Charly, Jan and Andi show that motorcycle fascination is on the program from the Silvretta High Alpine Road to the Furkajoch and from the Stilfser Joch to the Kühtaisattel. You’ll also find out that many a Kaiserschmarrn is destroyed along the way and why an apple strudel at over 3,000 meters is a must.

By the way: The “Kurven & Knödel” magazine, with detailed descriptions of the pleasure tours and attractive vacation packages, is available to download free of charge from the group’s homepage.
