SHE RIDES Summit 2025 – Twisty roads in the Knüll Mountains

Posted by

From June 27 to 30, 2025, it was off to Schwarzenborn for the SHE RIDES Summit, the annual summit for women motorcycle enthusiasts. Four days full of energy, sunshine, exciting workshops, ride outs through the Knüllgebirge mountains and a strong sense of community. I was not only there as a participant, but also had a few useful Kurviger workshops and great routes for joint tours in my luggage. Here is my review of an inspiring weekend.

Arrival and arrival

After my 370-kilometer journey, together with other women from the northern German SHE RIDES community – during which we got really wet for the first three hours – I finally reach the terrain on the Knüllköpfchen, the second highest mountain in the Knüllgebirge, in the afternoon.

The sun is shining from a blue sky, the temperatures are pleasantly warm – perfect conditions for the start of the weekend. The parking lot gradually fills up as women with a wide variety of bikes and from all regions of Germany arrive at the Summit site.

As soon as I enter the parking lot, it’s clear that the vibe is relaxed and positive, and the anticipation of the weekend can be felt everywhere. I’m quickly involved in my first conversations and get to know a few women from the SHE RIDES group in Hesse.

A cool drink at the bar, the Kurviger flag hoisted – then I explore the grounds. The event is officially opened on the Main Stage: Organizer Annika Gramlich and reigning Bike Woman Veronika Neumann welcome all the participants and introduce the weekend.

The program: riding technique workshops, interesting exhibitors, exciting presentations, guided tours – lots of input and riding fun. The evening ends around the campfire. People talk, laugh and share their experiences.

Saturday – Workshop and Ride Out

Saturday starts for me with the first workshop: I show the participants how easy it is to plan a really nice motorcycle tour with Kurviger. The participants are curious, some of them already knew the app from listening to it – and after the second set waypoint at the latest, everyone is implementing their own ideas for routes. The exchange is lively, tours are planned immediately and it’s great to see how well Kurviger is received.

Kurviger-Ride Out

Immediately afterwards, it’s off to the first Kurviger ride out. The 95-kilometre route I had planned took me north-east of Schwarzenborn through the Knüllgebirge – a quiet, green area with beautifully winding country roads, small villages and a few really twisty sections. After a good two-thirds of the way, we take a relaxing drinks break at the Sonnenblatt restaurant before cycling the remaining kilometers back to the Summit site. Everyone comes back with a smile – that’s exactly how it should be.

In the late afternoon, I was able to introduce Kurviger to all the participants on the Main Stage again – a great moment to pass on the enthusiasm from the workshop.

Presentation of Kurviger on the Main Stage

There is just enough time to visit some of the exhibitors and talk to them. In addition to Moto Queen, which has motorcycle clothing specially adapted to women’s bodies to try on, the motorcycle squadron of the North Hesse police was also on site today for a meet & greet. Veronika Neumann from the Kurzen Bikerinnen also gave an impressive demonstration of how to get your motorcycle back on the road safely.

With cocktails and live music from Franklin, the mood rises until everyone is standing by the stage and singing along loudly. An atmospheric end to a fulfilling day.

Sunday – Technology and exchange

Sunday is also well filled with workshops, talks and encounters. In addition to riding technique sessions and the workshop truck from the Mobile Motorcycle Service Ingolstadt, the Johanniter will be offering first aid workshops for bikers.

I’m giving the second Kurviger workshop on this day and am delighted to be able to ride the tour from the previous day again and share it with a new group. The route is perfect, the break at Sonnenblatt is another relaxed stopover – and once again everyone returns with a satisfied smile.

Monday – Farewell and outlook

On Monday, I put the Kurviger flag back in a parcel – I can’t carry it on the bike – and, like everyone else, pack my things in the luggage roll. Then it’s time to say goodbye: to a great weekend, inspiring women and a motivating atmosphere. The SHE RIDES Summit 2025 has once again shown how strong and diverse the community is – and how much energy is generated when so many committed women come together.

Many thanks again to the organizing team, who spent the rest of Monday dismantling the event in the heat before they too were able to set off again in all directions.

Plans for new meetings and joint trips have long since been made – and I am very happy to have been part of this weekend.

My conclusion

The SHE RIDES Summit 2025 was a special experience for me – as a participant and workshop leader. It combined learning, riding together and sharing in a unique way. The Summit is a real highlight for all motorcycle enthusiasts who are looking for inspiration, community and riding fun. I’m already looking forward to next year!
