Central Switzerland is the cradle of the Swiss Confederation and comes closest to the image foreigners have of Switzerland.
The same applies to the mountains. Many of the absolute classics for motorcyclists can be found here, such as the circular tour from Andermatt down into the Devil’s Gorge to Göschenen and on over the Susten, Grimsel and Furk passes back to the starting point. Bends to the limit and endless scenery, an area with addictive potential for motorcyclists. The main route of the crossing of the Alps, the approach to the Gotthard Pass, is also in Central Switzerland. With over 10 passable passes, including 3 destinations at an altitude of over 2000m and a further 25 high roads, Central Switzerland scores highly with motorcyclists. At the same time, there are over a dozen large lakes nestled in a magnificent landscape: Lake Lucerne, Lake Zurich and Lake Zug, to name the most important.
